Every custom sunless tan at Fifty-Seven Third is formulated with your skin’s health in mind. We blend 2–3 nourishing additives into your solution—boosting hydration, enhancing color, and extending the life of your glow. Each tan also includes gentle buffing for even application and a finishing powder that ensures a smudge-free, silky-dry feel.

For your comfort, we provide disposable underwear, bras, and nipple covers, so you can relax and enjoy the process without worry. Every detail is designed to give you not just a beautiful tan, but an experience that feels luxurious, customized, and completely comfortable.

How to prep your skin

  1. Arrive showered, shaved, exfoliated and FREE OF LOTION, DEODORANTS, AND MAKEUP! Wax or shave 24 hours before sunless application and avoid razors with moisturizer strips. Rinse with cool water. Never shave the day of your sunless tan.

  2. Hydrated skin is key for a flawless tan. Ensure that you are staying hydrated by upping your water intake and moisturizing daily beginning 1 week prior to your tan.

  3. For best results, lightly rinse at least 6 HOURS BEFORE sunless service with no soaps or wash.

  4. Exfoliate with an exfoliating mitt or dry brush 24-48 hours prior to sunless spray tan. Ensure that all previous self tanners or spray tans have been removed. We carry professional tan removers in the spa so please reach out if you’re in need.

What to wear

  • Bring dark and loose fitting clothing plus flip flops to wear AFTER the session. Continue to wear loose clothing as your color develops. No jeans, close-toed shoes, tight tops, or sport bras as these clothing items will cause your tan to smudge or transfer.

  • Oversized t-shirts, sweaters, or loose fitting dresses are perfect as they have no tight bands.

Aftercare to extend your tan

  • No sweating, strenuous activity, etc. following your tan. You cannot rinse before development time is up. Be conscious of holding ice cold drinks that may be sweating.

  • DO NOT take long hot showers or baths. This will fade your color extremely fast. Instead, keep showers lukewarm and short.

  • Moisturize morning and night. Keeping the body hydrated is key to keeping the color soaked in the skin. Ask us about our professional aftercare products.

  • Stay away from heavy scrubs, harsh soaps, and cleansers. No body exfoliating products.

  • Pat dry!

  • Keep facial routine as normal, just be aware that the tan on your face will naturally fade quicker due to cleansing and exfoliating products.

  • Avoid using heavy oils on the skin like coconut oil or baby oil until the color is ready to come off completely.

  • The more you shave, the quicker the color fades. Try to keep shaving to a minimum. Razors with the moisturizing strips can cause streaking and may make the tan fade quicker.

  • Avoid tight clothing the first 2-3 days as much as possible. Especially skinny jeans and shoes with straps.

  • Avoid conventional aerosol (spray) sunscreens. They will strip the color immediately. Stick to natural/organic lotion SPF or organic spray sunscreens like COOLA.
